What is HPV?
The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is a leading cause of cervical cancer. Infection from HPV serotypes 16 and 18, which account for 70% of cervical cancer cases, can be prevented through vaccination. HPV vaccination for females aged 9 to 26 years has been recommended under the National Childhood Immunisation Schedule since November 2010.
Who should have HPV vaccination?
- All unvaccinated females from 9 -26 years old
(Bivalent or Quadrivalent) - All unvaccinated males from 9-26 years old
(Quadrivalent only)
How many doses are required?
9 – 26 years old: 3 doses at 0 month, 2 months and 6 months
Price is applicable for three doses (either bivalent or quadrivalent) only and includes practice cost and doctor’s consultation charge at first visit

HPV (Quadrivalent) is effective in the prevention of HPV infection, precancerous and cancerous conditions of the cervix, vulva, vagina caused by strain types 6,11,16,18 as well as genital warts caused by strains types 6 and 11, in women aged below 26. It can also be used for the prevention of HPV infection and genital warts in males aged below 26. Precautions to note:
